ABOUT ME

In a fitness industry full of fad diets, misinformation and extreme programmes, my passion is to help educate and coach people to train smarter and change their lives. With a BSc degree in Sports Therapy and almost a decade of experience as one of the top trainers in the David Lloyd Gym group - I use science-backed training techniques to help my clients achieve their goals. Whether they're a professional athlete training for a race or a first-time gym goer looking to get healthier, my personal plans and consistent coaching will unlock your potential whilst preventing injury or burnout.

“I came to Mark with little experience of the gym and with certainly no love for it. That now couldn’t be further from the truth. Through his sessions he has genuinely instilled in me a love for training. I feel stronger, healthier and fitter than ever before and that is in no small part down to the sessions I’ve had with him.


What I have got out of training with Mark has truly proved invaluable to me. He has filled me with the confidence to train alone, but during my sessions pushes me beyond what I believe myself capable of. He genuinely wants to see me progress and achieve my goals. In addition to improving my overall fitness he has helped me achieve more specific goals which at one time seemed completely out of grasp. Wanting, for example, to be able to do just one pull up and despite being barely able to support my own body weight at the start, Mark worked with me until I can now do over 10 unassisted pull ups. This is something I never thought possible. Setting smaller goals like this throughout our training, made it fun, kept me enthused and made me want to come back time and time again until we had achieved what we were aiming for.


What Mark should also take credit for and for which I owe him a debt of gratitude is the immense improvement he has made to my physical health and consequently day to day life. Having had numerous surgeries, been unable to walk unassisted for many years and a hip replacement at 25yrs of age, I came to Mark experiencing daily pain conducting every day activities. This is something I had become accustomed to and had accepted as my norm. I didn’t for a second think any amount of training would change this and wasn’t the reason I started my PT journey. I can now say, bearing in mind I have worked with many number of qualified physiotherapists in both my youth and adult life, I have got more out of Mark’s training than I did in all those years. His knowledge of the physical anatomy is quite frankly staggering and as a direct result of his training (often having to adapt exercises and sessions to my specific challenges), I can quite honestly say the pain I was experiencing before has all but gone. The impact this has had on my life should not be underestimated and I don’t think Marks modest-self has ever quite appreciated the impact he has had.
